For editing photo’s, I mainly use Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop (monthly Photography Plan) and occasionally I use Luminar 4. For black & white I use the Silver Efex Pro 2 plugin.
For colour my workflow is usually as follows:
- Import RAW files into Lightroom
- View the files and score the ones I will edit with 3 to 5 stars (I don’t bother scoring less, if it’s not at least 3 stars I move on)
- Use Lightroom to make basic adjustments for noise reduction, sharpening, white balance, cropping, contrast curve, highlights & shadows and ND gradient mask and remove any blemishes, e.g., dust spots. File marked in Lightroom as ‘Yellow’ (my way of indicating it is ready for Photoshop)
- Export to Photoshop for any cloning out of people/objects etc. and final adjustments. On saving & closing the Photoshop file is also visible in Lightroom and the file is marked as ‘Green’ (my way of indicating it is now all work completed, ready for output)
- Export to Jpeg or printing is from Lightroom.
For video I use Corel VideoStudio and Insta360 Video Studio and I am still pretty low on the learning curve.
